The American Kestrel is a small, smart-looking falcon that likes to find medium-sized hollow spaces in which to raise its young. A round nesting box propped up on a Tree Mirage predator guard doubles as a tree hollow that is so inviting for a family of kestrels.
The nest box should be mounted six feet or higher near the edge of a field and it should be opened and cleaned out at the end of the season.
